Where will PEAK Academy be located?

We are so excited to announce our new location! We now have a beautiful permanent property that is located at 10410 West Hidden Lake Lane in Richmond, TX and we are currently working hard to transform it into the ideal learning environment for our students.

Please note that while we are absolutely open to providing tours of our school, these tours should be scheduled in advance. During the summer hours, we must
make sure we have staff available to provide you with the best possible tour and during the school year, we follow strict visitation guidelines so as to keep all of our children and our staff safe.

If you are interested in visiting or taking a tour of our school, please be sure to contact us ahead of time. No unannounced or impromptu tours or guests will be admitted in order to ensure the safety of those in our care. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation!

Will PEAK Academy be accredited?

Our school is currently eligible to seek accreditation, but we believe that accreditation brings mandates that reduce autonomy. With over seven decades (DECADES!) of combined teaching experience, our founders and teachers are intimately familiar with the Texas state standards, and work hard to ensure that every student makes significant academic progress. We are confident that our students will be successful learning in any academic setting after leaving PEAK.

What are PEAK Academy’s hours?

8:30 - 3:00

Our school day officially begins at 9:00, but we give our students the opportunity to ease into their mornings and not have to immediately begin working as soon as they arrive at school.

Before and after-school accommodations can be made on a case-by-case basis. If you have any questions or scheduling conflicts, please let us know.

Do you provide lunch and snacks?

Each student will be responsible for bringing snacks and lunch from home.

What curriculum do you use?

After years of having district-mandated curricula imposed upon us, we don’t use or subscribe to a particular curriculum, because we have yet to find one that meets the needs of all learners. Instead, we utilize a variety of tools, resources, programs, and software that allows us to meet our learners where they are and teach them on their individual levels.

What is a Micro School?

Micro schools are popping up all over the United States and Canada in response to teachers’, parents’, and students’ realizations that the one-size-fits-all, industrial model of public education does not work for all students. While most teachers and staff in public schools work very hard and are very well-intentioned, they are often restrained by policies and regulations that don’t allow for every student to flourish.

Our micro school is a different environment; at PEAK Academy, we are focused on growth, not test scores mastery. We meet every student where he or she is and help them progress forward. Our small student-teacher ratios allow us to get to know our students on a very deep level and understand exactly how to help them grow into the very best learners they can be.

At our micro school, our obligation is to our students. Our number one priority is to ensure that every child in our care gets the education that is best for him or her, and we are thrilled that so many families have put their faith in us to carry out this important work.

We are proud to offer an alternative education program right here in Richmond, Texas - a place where students and families can thrive!
